Default Skill Scroll And Select

I was scrolling through the customizable control configuration, and realized there were three commands that would be an interesting addition.

Scroll forward, back and select a skill.

During battle, one skill could be highlighted somehow. Scroll between skills, and press the select button to use the skill.

Sure it seems a little redundant, but if a more casual gamer who wants to play guild wars with a controller, like a wingman or an xbox 360 controller, mapping 8 buttons for the skills makes it impossible. This way 5 more buttons open up for scrolling targets, and controlling heroes open up.

What do you think?

I don't have a clue what you're on about...
Can you specify that a bit please?
Where is that 'highlighted skill'?

oh yeah I see what you mean. It's like turning your skillbar into a scrollbar. You use scrolling keys - say left and right for example, and it will scroll across the different skills. Once you've scrolled to the skill you want to use, you press enter. That does save space, but that's a very very very different gaming style, not sure how it will be recieved.

Sure thing, something like an arrow pointing to one skill. As you use the scroll keys the arrow moves side to side, hovering over different skill. Once it is over the skill you want, hit the use skill button and poof, there you go

I apologize for the double post, but i wanted to reply right away.

This style is not much different than using your finger to press one through eight.

This is simply a way of allowing people to explore guild wars with a controller rather than a keyboard and mouse. The way that the interface is set up, programming commands into the buttons of a controller would allow for little to no extra programmable buttons.

This control scheme would probably become hectic and somewhat chaotic, enforcing the fast, first-person-like rpg a-net wanted to make
